Deinopteryx Study 4

Description

A new take on my pterosaur/bird hybrid design for Deinopteryx.

Things I like: I like the new feet and more flexible wings. I took out the elbow blades because I felt they made the wings look a bit too stiff. The new spikes on the torso.

Things I don't care for: The cluttered feeling of all those feathers, the head size (the design is ok, but a bit meh).

Some changes I've been thinking about:
-Increasing the head a bit. Making it larger would improve it being a weapon. Not as big as Ahul big, but definately be larger. The neck could be shortened a bit.

-Less feathers. I've been thinking of giving him a scaly underbelly. I still would keep the the feathers for the rest of the body though. And by scales, I mean the lizard like ones. This would also allow you to see the spikes better as well.

So, what do you all think of these ideas?

:iconmehplz:, I can understand the desire to simplify but its not all that hard to tell the spikes apart from the feathers on his chest. Other than that I can't find anything too disasterous.
